“The princess slowly awoke from her soft slumbers… It was her birthday morning and she was greeted with an array of treasures; a blush pink teddy tied with a satin ribbon, dainty macarons encased in an elegant box, whimsical wonders from Dior, a jewellery box with an elegant ballerina twirling inside, and so much more…” ♡
A few of the presents I received were kindly gifted to me by my parents and the rest I purchased myself. Quite a few fairies were interested in seeing my gifts so I thought I would discuss them in this post. Each piece follows a girly, pink princess theme which is my favourite.
I think we can all agree that it’s lovely to be treated like a princess on your birthday but I want to express how grateful I feel to have received these gifts and the ability to purchase pretty things for myself.
Dior Dreams ♡
There is a whimsical feeling that emerges after shopping a luxury boutique. Nothing compares to receiving your pretty purchases wrapped in a box tied with soft satin bows. I truly felt like Blair Waldorf when I left Dior with my shopping bags.
Scents of Dreams ♡
My little heart has been lusting after a new perfume and when I saw the Miss Dior eau de toilette, my heart skipped a beat.
Dior fragrances encapsulate everything I treasure; femininity, romance and elegance.
The perfume is intended to inspire a “fresh whirlwind” in the soul; like an all-encompassing romance, it combines a waltz of grasse rose and a veil of lily of the valley which are as light as a tulle petticoat…
At the heart of the fragrance is the centifolia rose which unfurls its ever blossoming beauty. Alongside the centifolia rose are top notes of blood orange and mandarin which add a citrus burst.
To finish, we have clear patchouli which ties the scent together with a beautiful bow…
The soft, blush pink liquid is encased in an elegant glass bottle which is adorned with a dainty bow. Whenever I wear Miss Dior I feel like a princess wandering amongst the rose bushes in a secret, enchanted garden…
Fresh Body Creams & Skincare Treats ♡
To accompany my new perfume, I selected the Miss Dior Fresh Body Creme which has been on my lust list for such a long time. This cream is the pinnacle of luxe body care; encased in a beautiful glass jar you will find the delicately perfumed cream of your dreams. It has a light, yet nourishing texture which leaves the skin feeling as soft as a snowy swan. It also contains rose oil to help moisturise the skin.
Dior skincare is something I have been meaning to try out for quite some time so I finally decided to splurge on two products from their Hydra Life range. The first item I selected was the Pores Away Pink Clay Mask. This mask is designed to cleanse the skin from impurities by minimising pores and leaving the skin velvety soft. I applied the mask after completing my regular skincare regime; the air-whipped formula works into a foam and this is left on for three minutes. Once the skin is dry, I definitely saw a change in texture as my skin felt refined and clean.
I have almost ran out of my Origins Willowherb cleanser so I decided to purchase the Hydra Life Micellar Milk Cleanser. I prefer to use products that are softer on the skin and have a milky texture. The micellar milk is perfect at nourishing the skin; the rice milk properties help to eliminate all traces of makeup and impurities.
The Prettiest Purse ♡
I never imagined that I would own a piece from Dior’s luxury accessories.
My dream bag is the Lady Dior in a soft pink shade and I thought this miniature purse would complement the bag beautifully.
The Lady Dior design was originally made for Diana Princess of Wales. It is encased in a lambskin cannage motif which is inspired by the Napoleon III chairs that were used in the first fashion show that Monsieur Dior staged in 1947.
Encased in a stunning box wrapped with a silky white and gold embossed ribbon; everything exudes luxury. The design is timeless and the light gold details are stunning.
The addition of charms on the corner of the purse is reminiscent of the Lady Dior bag.
Hopefully when I visit Paris in April next year, I’ll be able to finally purchase my dream handbag!
Lavishly Ladurée ♡
If you ever wanted to create your own regal tea party at home, all you need is a dainty box of macarons from Ladurée…
Whilst in London I purchased the Cannage pink box which fits eight elegant macarons; the flavours I selected were…. rose, vanilla, rose cardamom and strawberry candy floss!
Beautiful Books ♡
On my trip I also treated myself to some fashion literature; I love reading this genre of books as it helps inspire my creative side. The first book I selected was Paris Through A Fashion Eye by Megan Hess.
I have been following Megan for quite a few years and to say that I adore her designs would be an understatement.
They depict everything I covet; haute couture, pastels, decadent delights and all the pink beauty in the world! She has also inspired me to create my own illustrations and designs for my Etsy shop where I sell my own ballerina prints. Since reading this book I have reserved a hotel for my trip to Paris next April…
I have also written a list of the things I want to see and gathered pretty pictures on Pinterest and placed them in my scrapbook for inspiration. Every page of Megan’s book is adorned with an array of illustrations that inspire me; from dreamy depictions of luxurious hotels like ‘le Bristol’ and ‘The Ritz’, to the decadent treasures you can indulge in at Angelina’s, and glittering displays at Dior and Chanel, you will be spoilt for places to go to! I definitely recommend this book to any fashion lovers as you will be left brimming with ideas for your next trip to Paris.
After visiting the ‘Dior: Designer of Dreams’ exhibit, I decided to purchase two books from my favourite designer.
The Little Dictionary of Fashion is a book filled with words of wisdom from Christian Dior. On each page there is something to take away and remember. I love this one about my favourite colour pink…
“Pink is the sweetest of all colours. Every woman should have something pink in her wardrobe. It is the colour of happiness and of femininity…”
Dior: A New Look, A New Enterprise 1947-57 is such a beautiful book; it is encased in a soft pink cover and filled with stunning sketches and photographs from Dior’s early creations.
I have only read a few chapters so far but the book begins by discussing Christian’s journey into the world of haute couture which I found very fascinating.
Dainty Ballerina Prints♡
Before visiting the Royal Opera House and seeing The Royal Ballet’s performance of Romeo and Juliet, my mother and I went to Covent Garden and we came across a stall dedicated to ballet. There was an array of dreamy prints but I decided to go for this sketch of a ballerina tying up her pointe shoes. I thought she appeared so whimsical and elegant and looking at her will inspire me when I re-start my ballet classes in September.
Cute Cookie Boxes ♡
As you may have gathered from my blog post dedicated to the dreamy Peggy Porschen parlour in Belgravia, I adore everything pastel and girly.
When I visited the parlour I decided to purchase their ‘Blossom Bunny Cookie Box’. Inside you will find beautifully hand-crafted vanilla sugar cookies which are painted with blossom bunnies, pink tulips, spring blossom and Easter egg designs.
Cupcake Charms ♡
To commemorate my trip to London and the challenges I faced I decided to purchase a charm for my Pandora bracelet. I chose their ‘Sweet Cupcake’ charm because I adore baking and on the trip I tried my first cupcake in over four years at Peggy Porschen.
This was a significant achievement in my recovery journey and although I didn’t manage to complete it, this little charm will always remind me of my inner-strength.
Soft Bears Tied With Bows ♡
I couldn’t leave Harrods without one of their adorable teddy bears! Of course, I decided to take home their baby pink teddy.
She is the softest and fluffiest bear and I love the little Harrods bow detail around her neck.
Soft Pink Roses ♡
Being surrounded by fresh flowers is so important to me…
Their delicate beauty inspires me and after a tiring weekend in London, I was so overjoyed to receive this bouquet of soft pink roses from my dad.
Ballerina Jewels ♡
My father kindly gifted me with the dreamiest ballerina jewellery box from Ted Baker. I feel inspired every time I open the box and I can’t wait to re-start ballet in September.
The box is set with a hand lacquered pink gloss and features a grey suedette lining. Inside you will find three interior sections; a ring roll for precious rings and earrings, and two additional compartments for necklaces, bracelets and other trinkets.
The musical box features soft close hinges and opens with a bow-shaped key and lock; I adore the drawstring pouch which reads “you hold the key” ~ it is a very unique feature and will keep your jewels safe.
The rose gold ballerina figure is clothed in a soft pink mesh skirt tied with a ribbon bow whilst she twirls to the musical melody of Charles Trenet in front of a tinted oval mirror.
Pink Tiffany Hearts♡
♡ “I don’t want to own anything until I find a place where me and things go together. I’m not sure where that is but I know what it is like. It’s like Tiffany’s.”
♡ “Tiffany’s? You mean the jewellery store?”
♡ “That’s right. I’m just crazy about Tiffany’s.”
As an Audrey fan, I couldn’t resist taking a trip to the Tiffany & Co boutiques in Covent Garden and Harrods. However, I was so disheartened when the item I had been lusting after was sold out.
Nevertheless, as a post-birthday treat to myself, I decided to order the jewellery piece online…
The Return to Tiffany Pink Heart Bead Bracelet is so pretty. The design is inspired by the iconic key ring made in 1969; it features an elegant heart-shaped tag with a baby pink enamel finish.
Rose Ballerine Dreams♡
As you may have gathered, Dior is my favourite designer. However, I also have a penchant for Chanel and the ever-so luxurious, Louis Vuitton.
In April I made my first premium purchase from LV; I decided to splurge on their ‘light pink’ confidential bandeau.
I’m planning on publishing an in-depth blog post on the piece very soon! Anyway, after making my purchase, I realised that I had caught the designer shopping bug…
I purchased the Zippy Coin Purse in the shade ‘Rose Ballerine’ as a birthday treat. You can never expect anything less than perfection from Louis Vuitton. I felt a surge of joy when I held the little orange box tied with a blue ribbon in my hands. The purse was encased in a miniature dust bag which is too cute for words and I squealed with delight whilst I unwrapped it. When purchasing the silk scarf, I experienced the delight of seeing it in store. Unboxing the purse was a special surprise as I hadn’t seen it in person.
The purse is coated in the glossy monogram vernis leather. This leather is very special and if you look closely, it appears to be shining with glitter pigments. However, through research I discovered that this type of leather is extremely delicate and prone to colour transfer. This means that wearing darker colours could ruin the piece as pigments from the garments can rub into the soft, delicate design. Thankfully, I only wear pink and white so I shouldn’t have this problem. However, it’s important to keep this in mind if you’re considering making a purchase. The purse has four individual card slots and two compartments for coins; this is the perfect size to fit all my essentials. The gold details are so dreamy and I can’t wait to style the purse with a ‘Rose Ballerine’ Alma BB someday….
I hope you enjoyed this post angel cakes ~ if you would like to see an in-depth post on some of the pieces I revealed today, just let me know! I currently have a new video on my YouTube channel where I feature detailed clips of each item.
lots of love from,
