Hello frosted fairies! My trip to London for my 21st birthday has almost arrived and I’m beaming from head to toe. I have been dreaming of seeing the Royal Ballet perform at the Royal Opera House for years and I can’t believe I will be there this evening. I’m also looking forward to visiting the Peggy Porschen parlour and Ladurée for some delectable delights and experiencing the Dior: Designer of Dreams exhibition at the V&A.
I’m planning on sharing my trip over on my Instagram stories so make sure that you’re following me if you want to stay updated. I would also love to know if you’d like me to vlog my trip for Youtube? I will definitely share the photos I take in upcoming blog posts but if you would enjoy seeing a video, just leave a comment!
My itinerary is laid out, I have a list of items I want to purchase, my outfits have been selected and I thought I would dedicate this post to showing you how I pack for a weekend away. Here is my step-by-step guide on how to travel and remain effortlessly chic!
Princess Luggage ♡
Travelling with a luggage set that matches your style will make you feel put together and prepared for any holiday.
Ted Baker have the sweetest travel cases and they exude a vision of luxury and princess glam which I try to embody every day.
This baby pink bow detail suitcase from Ted Baker is any girly-girls dream come true! I received this darling case last Christmas and I’m using it for the very first time this weekend. The rose gold bows and zips add a sweet, feminine touch and if you style it with a pink, girly outfit you can channel your inner Elle Woods!
When I spotted this piece in the Ted Baker sale I knew I had to make a purchase. The stunning pink and rose gold bow design matches my cabin case perfectly and inside you will find nifty compartments where you can store all your beauty and skincare essentials. It also comes with a detachable strap so that you can save yourself from carrying it around.
It’s What’s Inside That Counts… ♡
Ted Baker ‘Beaue’ Cabin Suitcase
I can’t be the only one who goes slightly overboard when they’re packing for a holiday? However, as my suitcase is a cabin size I had to be diligent and careful with how much I decided to take with me.
Pretty Packing Tips
🌸Pack as light as an angel delight! ~ you don’t want your luggage weighing you down as it’s not practical or enjoyable!
🌸 Start Small ~ fold your delicates, hosiery, sleep mask, small accessories and lay them at the bottom of the case. Once this is complete you can add your shoes. I always place mine inside a dust bag to avoid ruining my clothes.
🌸 Precious Pieces ~ I typically pack my delicate Ted Baker blouses, dresses and knitwear on the day of travel so that they’re in my case for the shortest length of time. Once you have arrived at your hotel, I recommend removing your most precious pieces (anything that creases easily) and placing them on a hanger or, if you have time, spend half an hour steaming them.
🌸 Arrange electrical items such as hair appliances, devices and chargers into a zipped compartment to avoid any liquid spills. Having your a vanity case can be very helpful to avoid this dilemma!
Ted Baker ‘Beaue’ Vanity Case
I definitely think it’s worth investing in a vanity case as it leaves more room in your suitcase.
Inside you will find two main compartments; in the first section I decided to arrange my makeup essentials…
How dreamy is this set of fluffy brushes from SLMissGlam’s ‘Pink Glam Brush Book’. They’re so soft and feel like candy floss! I can’t wait to use them for the first time this weekend. I will definitely let you know my thoughts in a future blog post!
I arranged all my skincare essentials into the second compartment. I’m particularly in love with my new Miss Dior Moisturising Body Milk; it is scented with centifolia rose extract and leaves my skin feeling as soft as a swan!
“The Frill Of It All” ~ The Prettiest Travel Accessory♡
At the beginning of the year I shared my thoughts on my Rammira ruffle backpack from Ted Baker which has now become my favourite bag in my collection. The bag is made from a top grain leather, making it sturdy and durable. Initially it was the feminine frills on the flap and side of the bag which drew me to the item. In many ways this design mimics the ruffles on the hem of a skirt or a dress. The rose-pink shade is so dreamy and compliments my wardrobe perfectly. The colour definitely reminds me of Elle Woods but the mini backpack design mirrors the ones worn by Cher Horowitz in Clueless. Delicate hidden details such as the rose gold hardware are a beautiful touch and they make the bag unique. With a height of 18cm and width of 24cm, the bag isn’t too bulky (I have a tall frame at 5.7′ and it doesn’t look too small on me.) The inside is very spacious but there is still a lot of structure so you don’t need to worry about the bag losing its shape over time.
Inside this beautiful backpack I have stored all my travel essentials. This includes… my pretty pink ballerina passport case from Cath Kidston, my adorable Marie cardholder , a baby pink bow purse from Ted Baker, my Crabtree and Evelyn rose-scented hand cream and my new lipgloss from Mac’s ‘Boom, Boom, Bloom’ range.
I couldn’t forget my rose gold Beats which are an essential for any journey and my phone which is encased in a pink marble Ted Baker cover.
Ballerina Dreams ~ A Chic Passport Cover & Purse Tied With A Bow♡
I prefer to travel with items that diverge from the mundane and look effortlessly chic. I truly believe that these pieces elevate your look and make you stand out.
I knew I couldn’t resist this pink passport cover when I spotted it in my local Cath Kidston. I adore ballet with all my heart and I miss the days when I used to go to dance class every week. The dainty ballerina and rose bud design is the sweetest addition and it matches my new Ted Baker bow purse. I purchased this at the beginning of the year and I adore it so much. It is has a compact, elegant design with rose gold detailing, and the zip design makes it easy to remove your cash and cards.
Think Pink ~ Clothed In Your Chicest Pieces♡
Wearing an outfit that makes you beam with confidence is so important and should never be overlooked. Even if you’re presented with wondrous accessories and luggage, if your outfit doesn’t fit your spirit and style or you don’t feel comfortable, it will show and ruin the entire look. To travel in style, you must remain classy and comfortable. Trust me angels, you can feel at ease without wearing jeans or jogging bottoms.
I recommend wearing a light, elegant tea dress. My current go to is my Gal Meets Glam ‘Mary’ dress which I wrote about in this blog post. The length is just above the knee, it’s floaty and because the sleeves are 3/4 length, my arms won’t be too cold. You could pair this dress with a classic soft pink coat, some white tights and a dainty pair of ballet flats. Dresses allow us to channel our elegance whilst remaining free and unrestricted.
I hope you enjoyed this segment angel cakes! I can’t wait to arrive in London soon and share all my wondrous adventures with you. However, in the mean time, au revoir and have splendid weekend!
Lots of love,
