Hello my frosted fairies! Soon the snow will start to flurry and blanket our surroundings, merry bells will begin to ring and we will commence adorning our homes with sugar sprinkled trees, dainty ballerinas and glittering Nutcrackers. Nevertheless, whilst this takes place, we also want to be cosy on those frosty evenings ahead.
Pamper evenings are one of my favourite things to do during winter and today I am going to share my relaxation essentials. Make sure to have a fluffy throw and marshmallow hot chocolate ready 🌸☃️🍥☕️
I hope this post leaves you feeling as warm and fuzzy as a little fluffy bunny! ☁️🌸🐇
Haute Couture, Sweetly Scented Candles & Pom Pom Slippers ♡
Reading by candlelight and experiencing the scent of sweet Christmas treats whirling through the air is the epitome of comfort. I recently picked up the December issue of Bazaar UK which has Keira Knightley gracing its cover; clothed in Chanel Haute Couture and Chanel Fine Jewellery she looks effortlessly elegant and dainty. As the evenings grow darker, there is nothing more pleasant than gazing at the latest haute couture collections, sipping on a warm drink and lighting a dreamy candle.
My favourite winter candle is ‘Snowflake Cookie’ from Yankee Candle. It has a sugary sweet icing aroma and leaves my bedroom smelling like a bakery 💗🍪❄️ With notes of fluffy marshmallow, whipped vanilla icing, warm cinnamon and nutmeg, it is the perfect scent for Christmastime.
Snuggling up in your favourite winter warmers can instantly make you feel festive; my first essential piece would have to be my fluffy pom-pom detail slippers from The White Company. Whenever I wear them I feel like Tinkerbell as they remind me of her little pom-pom shoes! Unfortunately they no longer sell this exact pair but I have found a similar pair in ‘Midnight Blue’ and some pale pink pom-pom mule slippers which look divine.
My second essential is this darling pair of pink cable knit gloves from Katie Loxton. They have the loveliest pearl detailing which makes them look so stylish. I’m also tempted to purchase the matching beanie and scarf.
Finally, a soft pink beret and bow scarf are my “go-to” items for a chic, Parisian look. I purchased my pearl beret from Topshop and bow scarf from Kate Spade (similar) last winter and whenever I wear them I feel like a toasty, snow bunny! P.S hot chocolates in a pretty mug are a must; be sure to use a mug as big as this one from Oliver Bonas so that you can fit the softest marshmallows inside.
Decorating for the Season with Snowflake Ballerinas ♡
Yesterday I finally put up my Christmas tree and decorated my bedroom for the season (a blog post will be coming your way soon…) I was so eager to make my room look festive and make the most of all the pretty ornaments I’ve collected.
I think rearranging and tidying your bedroom is such a therapeutic activity to do on your pamper evening as it helps you feel refreshed and ready for the month ahead!
Today I am featuring one of my favourite tree ornaments that I picked up a few weeks ago in Matalan; the white, fluffy tulle skirt reminds me of the Waltz of the Snowflakes in the Nutcracker. I can’t wait to see the ballet with my mum next month!
Girly Hot Water Bottles & Dreamy Bath Bombs ♡
A pamper evening isn’t complete without something to keep yourself as toasty as a cinnamon bun and this pink, fluffy hot water bottle cover is perfect! Tied with a dainty bow, it looks so sweet and girly.
I also love to run myself a soothing bubble bath and fill the tub with delightful scents. This trio of bath bombs from Bomb Cosmetics in the ‘Secret Garden’ range are a fairytale come true; inside the gift set you will find the ‘Apple & Raspberry Blaster’, the ‘Fairytale Fantasy Blaster’ and the ‘Butterfly Blaster.’ Each bath bomb has cocoa and shea butters which leave the skin feeling nourished and moisturised.
Festive Reading List ♡
Last week I took a trip to my local library and I couldn’t resist picking up a couple of Christmas reads. ‘Calling Mrs Christmas’ by Carole Matthews centres around Cassie Smith. Cassie has been without work for quite some time and after months of job searching, she decides to embark on her own business venture. The business involves helping people with their extensive and stressful to do lists over the Christmas season; from baking mince pies and writing cards to wrapping presents, Mrs. Christmas is there to help. So far I’m enjoying snuggling up with this festive read, a cosy throw and a cup of tea on chilly evenings.
The second book, ‘Christmas Cakes and Mistletoe Nights’ is also by Carole Matthews. The story revolves around a talented baker called Fay who is torn between the love for her partner Danny and her passion for baking. As this book combines two of my favourite things, baking and Christmas, I am certain I will enjoy this tale!
Sugar Plum Delights & Cute Tea Sets♡
After reading the ‘Mrs Beeton’s Homemade Sweetshop’ recipe book, I felt inspired to make my own sweets. I decided to start off with a batch of raspberry and coconut ice squares to keep things simple!
I had so much fun spending the afternoon making these miniature delights with my mum. They smell like sugary snow clouds of coconut goodness and are magical alongside a cup of tea. A blog post on how to make these sweets will be up next week and I’m very eager to try the recipes for their raspberry marshmallows, vanilla fudge and rose candy canes!
To make your pamper evening that extra bit special, why not place your treats on a dainty tea set? I managed to find this little Cath Kidston cup and saucer in a local charity shop! I was so overjoyed when I saw it as the brand no longer stock this cute floral print.
I really hope you this post has provided you with some inspiration. Please let me know in the comments section below what you love to do on a pamper evening and what your favourite thing about Christmas is? For me, it has to be the evenings spent around the fire with my family, the tree lights are twinkling, we’re watching It’s A Wonderful Life and some sweet gingerbread biscuits and mince pies are baking in the oven! ☁️🎀🎄🍪
I’m sending lots of love to you all and I hope you have an enchanting week filled with sugar topped cinnamon cookies and peppermint cupcakes 💗🍥🍬
