It seems only fitting to commence my first blog post with a treasured quote from one of my favourite films, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (1971)
Both the film and Roald Dahl’s book bring back an abundance of warm, fuzzy memories for me. In particular they grant an everlasting feeling of hope for children and adults to keep dreaming and escape what is deemed ordinary and mundane. I think that we all could benefit from a little sprinkle and a dash of creativity. This feeling of escapism captured in the film is something that baking has granted me from a young age. It allows me to envision, explore and create to my heart’s content by providing a distraction when life appears uncertain or overwhelming.
This was intended to be an introductory post but I’m already aware that I have started to veer slightly off topic by uncontrollably waffling on. I plan to make this blog a testament to my love for baking and creativity.
Anyway, you are welcome to sit back with a soothing cup of tea and a Scrumdiddlyumptious bar. Make sure you clasp onto that golden ticket as tightly as humanly possible and be prepared to be whisked away into a world of pure imagination…. ♡
